Pension Fund Backs Benefit Payouts Worth More Than UAH 43 Billion
Pension and Benefit Payouts: What the Fund Has Financed
According to Пенсії (RSS): By August 11, the Pension Fund of Ukraine had disbursed funds for a range of social obligations: retirement pensions, housing subsidies and privileges, insurance compensations, social assistance, and other payments. Pension payouts specifically reached UAH 33.7 billion, with UAH 5.3 billion going through JSC Ukrposhta and UAH 28.4 billion via authorized banks. For many citizens, these recurring disbursements serve as a primary source of income.
Beyond pensions, the Fund allocated UAH 1.5 billion to housing subsidies and benefits, UAH 1.9 billion to insurance payouts (including UAH 0.6 billion for sick leave), and UAH 6.8 billion to social assistance and other categories. In August alone, the Fund provided 417,900 services to individuals who applied to its offices.
Why Social Benefit Funding Remains Vital
Financing these social programs is a cornerstone of public support, particularly in times of economic strain. Since pensioners and social aid recipients depend heavily on regular, predictable payments, the speed and reliability of the Pension Fund's operations can have a direct impact on people's livelihoods.
Judging by the scale of these disbursements, it is clear that the state continues to prioritize assistance for vulnerable segments of the population.
