Reviving 'Chance' Without Kuzma Skryabin Makes No Sense, Says Producer
The Possible Return of TV Show 'Chance'
According to РБК-Україна — Lite: Producer Volodymyr Bebeshko has stated that bringing back the television project 'Chance' would be pointless without Andriy Kuzmenko, known as Kuzma Skryabin, who died in 2015. According to Bebeshko, the show relied heavily on Kuzma's personality, and his absence would significantly alter any new format. He also suggested that Serhiy Prytula and Olya Polyakova could serve as hosts for a revamped version.
Andriy Kuzmenko, better known as Kuzma Skryabin, tragically lost his life in a car accident in 2015. Volodymyr Bebeshko, the producer of the 'Chance' project, emphasized Kuzma's importance to the show, stating:
"You know, honestly, without Kuzma, there's no point. 'Chance' was built around him, remember?" - Volodymyr Bebeshko
He also noted that Natalia Mogilevska, a former star mentor on the project, continues her career, but Kuzma remained the central figure.
Show Format and Prizes
The TV project 'Chance' was created by Ihor Kondratiuk as a continuation of the 'Karaoke on the Maidan' format. Participants in 'Chance' were winners from 'Karaoke on the Maidan'. The grand prize winner received:
- Radio airplay
- An opportunity to record a music video
- In the early seasons, a trip to the international competition 'New Wave'
For its quality, 'Chance' was awarded the 'Teletriumph' prize.
Regarding potential hosts, Volodymyr Bebeshko believes Serhiy Prytula could step into Kuzma's role. He remarked: 'One person could do it. Prytula.' Olya Polyakova, in Bebeshko's view, could also serve as a co-host. 'Because Polyakova is a bombshell. You know what Polyakova is? She's so tired of it all in Ukraine. She can do anything. Olya can do whatever she wants,' he emphasized.
Thus, the return of 'Chance' remains uncertain, as without Kuzma, according to Bebeshko, it would lose its essence.
This situation highlights the importance of personalities in TV projects, where hosts play a key role in shaping a show's image and success. The absence of Andriy Kuzmenko casts doubt on the possibility of reviving 'Chance' in its original form, as his charisma and hosting style were defining for the program. The discussion about potential new hosts also shows that creators aim to maintain high content standards, but the loss of an iconic figure like Kuzma could significantly impact how viewers perceive the show.
As discussions about reviving 'Chance' continue, the dynamics of hosting a talent show in Ukraine are becoming increasingly relevant. For instance, SWEET.TV has recently announced its own upcoming project with a new host for the revival of 'Star Factory', drawing attention to how different personalities can shape a show's success.
