It is possible to return through a simplified procedure until August 30: step-by-step instructions

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has signed a law that extends the simplified mechanism for the return of servicemen who have voluntarily left their military unit until August 30, 2025. They now have a chance to return to the army and continue their service while receiving certain benefits. This information has been confirmed by the State Bureau of Investigation and 'Hlavkom'.

'This mechanism gives a chance to those who have voluntarily left their military unit for the first time to return to the army and continue their service with the restoration of various types of support. Such servicemen may be exempted from criminal liability'

Algorithm for returning after voluntary leave from military service:

If the leave lasted up to three days after 10.05.2025:

• No criminal proceedings are initiated, but administrative liability may apply;
• The serviceman returns to the unit, and if impossible - through BREEZ;
• Support is restored.

If the leave lasted more than three days and the serviceman is ready to return by 30.08.2025:

• No criminal proceedings are initiated;
• The serviceman returns to the unit by the specified date and continues service, receiving support under the contract;

There is also an opportunity to apply through 'Army+' to obtain permission to continue service and further interaction with the judicial system. In the case of repeated leave or unwillingness to return, a criminal case is initiated.

The State Bureau of Investigation calls on servicemen to take advantage of this opportunity before the deadline - August 30, 2025. We remind you that the corresponding draft law has been approved by the Verkhovna Rada, and now servicemen have additional time to resolve their situation.
