Cases against the prison employee

According to Главком: An indictment has been sent to court against an employee of Kazankivka Correctional Colony No. 93, who is accused of establishing a channel for supplying drugs to inmates. According to the investigation, this employee acted as an intermediary between drug suppliers and inmates who ordered drugs through third parties.

In October 2025, during an internal inspection of the colony, a package containing narcotic substances was discovered. At present, the inspector suspected of committing the crime is in custody. He is charged with illegal possession and transportation of drugs under Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of this article provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Disciplinary proceedings and consequences

Materials regarding the drug suppliers have been separated into a separate criminal proceeding. The procedural leadership in this case is carried out by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office. In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Roman Isayenko, which is confirmed by government resolution No. 1477-r. The Commission on the Higher Corps of Civil Service is to inform the government of the results of the disciplinary proceedings by January 27, 2026.

This case highlights the seriousness of the drug problem in Ukraine's penitentiary system and exposes potential corruption links among correctional facility staff. Research and investigation of such cases can be an important step towards improving control and security in places of detention, as well as having consequences for future drug policy in the country.
