Polish railway worker comments on train attack
Слова працівника польських залізниць про Росію після трагедії з потягом викликали хвилю обурення та розслідування.

Outrage Over Polish Railways Employee's Comment

According to Главком: A Polish State Railways (PKP) employee has provoked widespread condemnation after posting 'Glory to Russia' in response to a report about a Russian strike on a Ukrainian train. The company has launched an internal investigation into the incident. This controversy unfolds against the backdrop of Russia's ongoing war in Ukraine, where such statements are seen as deeply offensive and inflammatory. The attack in question occurred on January 27, when a Russian assault on a passenger train in the Kharkiv region resulted in six fatalities.

Following the strike, emergency services completed their response, fully extinguishing a fire in the carriage hit by a drone. At the moment of impact, 18 passengers were in that specific carriage, while the entire train was carrying over 200 people. Videos capturing the immediate aftermath of the attack have also surfaced online.

Company Response and Award for Ukrainian Defender

“We have initiated internal procedures to investigate the employee's actions. We do not accept content or behavior that contradicts applicable law, ethical principles, and the interests of public security. At the same time, we wish to emphasize that the safety of railway infrastructure and passengers is our absolute priority. Any signals that could undermine this are treated with due seriousness.”

Representative of Polish State Railways (PKP)

In a separate development, Ukraine's state railway company, Ukrzaliznytsia, honored Ukrainian defender Vlad Omar for his assistance in evacuating passengers during the tragedy.

This situation underscores the critical importance of ethics and responsibility during times of conflict, especially for state-owned entities and companies operating critical infrastructure. The swift reaction from Polish State Railways to its employee's comment demonstrates the seriousness with which they treat matters of security and public order. It is vital that such incidents do not erode trust in public institutions, particularly in a wartime context where lives depend on an adequate response to threats.
