The document clearly defines which items cannot be brought to school by students and visitors. The ban applies to both real items and their imitations, if they may pose a threat.
Dangerous items in schools: what exactly has been banned
The approved list includes:
- firearms, pneumatic and cold weapons, as well as their models and replicas;
- ammunition, explosive and pyrotechnic devices;
- devices for shooting rubber bullets, gas canisters, electric shockers;

Dangerous items in schools: exceptions and the purpose of the decision
At the same time, the restrictions do not apply to items used in the educational process, economic activities of schools, or stored in school museums. Their use is also allowed during sports and educational events, but only under the supervision of responsible persons.
The government explains that the new rules are aimed at increasing safety levels and complying with legal requirements regarding the protection of participants in the educational process. It is expected that a clear list will help schools respond more effectively to potential risks.
It is worth noting that Kyiv schools continue winter break until February 1, 2024. This decision was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, due to the difficult energy situation in the country. Winter breaks for schoolchildren in Kyiv began on December 25, 2023, and lasted until January 11, 2024, inclusive, but due to new circumstances, their terms were extended.
