Reviewing How Students Are Fed in Ukrainian Schools

According to Кабмін: Prime Minister Koretskyi has told the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, working with the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, to carry out an urgent check of meal quality for schoolchildren in grades 1–11. The inspections are to happen directly at educational institutions.

Koretskyi also gave the Ministry of Education and Science a separate task: collect parental feedback and make sure every complaint is treated seriously.

“The state has allocated the required money so that children in every school, without exception, receive quality lunches,” Serhiy Koretskyi said.

Government financing for school lunches in all schools is indeed in place.

Why School Food Oversight Matters

The cabinet's move signals that meal quality in schools has become a priority, since proper nutrition is vital to children's health and everyday wellbeing. On-site checks can highlight issues that need quick correction and verify that accepted food requirements are met.

Parents' firsthand experience offers a crucial perspective; collecting their views helps expose the weakest points of student meal services.
