According to ХВИЛЯ: On the 87th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland, Prime Minister Donald Tusk drew parallels between Russia’s current tactics and those used in the past. He recalled how in 1939, Poland stood isolated, deprived of meaningful ally support when faced with aggression. Today, as a member of NATO and the European Union, Poland enjoys a far stronger defense capability.

Tusk emphasized that Poland allocates nearly 5% of its GDP to defense-almost double Germany’s spending and more than twice that of France. He also highlighted the substantial backing Poland receives through the EU’s SAFE program, which has provided €44 billion in support. Thanks to these measures, Poland’s borders are now among the most secure in Europe.
