The Prime Minister of Slovakia opened a tunnel on roller skates: 27 years of construction and scandals
According to glavcom.ua: The longest road tunnel in Slovakia, 'Višňové', has been opened, which is strategically important and will accelerate transport communication between regions. Prime Minister Robert Fico decided to test the new road by skating through the tunnel on roller skates. According to him, this gesture demonstrated the readiness of the facility for use and the significance of its completion for the lives of residents.
The 'Višňové' tunnel is 7.5 km long and has been under construction for over 27 years due to numerous obstacles and changes during the building process. Its opening will ensure safer and faster communication between the western and eastern regions of the country, avoiding the dangerous pass under Strečno, where traffic jams frequently occur.
