According to Главком: Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has declared his intention to resign, stating he will formally submit his resignation to the Constitutional Court. This move comes during a period of political instability in the country and ahead of planned early parliamentary elections. Radev, who has served as president for nine years, shared his thoughts in a final address to the nation. In response to the protesters' actions, the government announced the withdrawal of the contentious budget proposal.

“Nine years ago, you entrusted me with the work of serving as President of Bulgaria.”

He also emphasized that

“today I am addressing you for the last time as President of Bulgaria”

and acknowledged his mistakes, stating: “The first thing I would like to ask for is forgiveness. Thank you for your patience.” He named Iliana Yotova as a worthy head of state, a comment that may signal potential changes in the country's leadership.
