PrivatBank Reveals Portrait of Electric Car Buyer in Ukraine: Who Takes Auto Loans

PrivatBank has presented the portrait of a typical Ukrainian electric car owner who takes a loan for their vehicle. This information was provided by the bank's press service, citing the head of secured lending, Vladyslav Korolov, during the event 'ElectroSpectra'.

In 2025, there is a significant increase in the popularity of electric and hybrid vehicles in Ukraine. According to the bank, one in five new cars purchased on credit operates on electricity. Among Ukrainian consumers, the most popular electric brands are BYD, Honda, Volkswagen, Zeekr, and Audi.

Characteristics of a Ukrainian electric car buyer:
  • Social profile: Over half of buyers are married men, most of whom run their own businesses.
  • Age group: The majority of electric car buyers are aged between 36 and 45 years.
  • Financing terms: Five-year loan programs are the most popular.

'Every eighth new car running on conventional fuel and every ninth electric car in Ukraine is purchased on credit from PrivatBank,' it is reported.

The Ukrainian bank PrivatBank has analyzed the profile of a Ukrainian electric car owner who takes a loan for their vehicle. According to the study, the popularity of electric and hybrid vehicles in Ukraine is increasing, particularly among individuals aged 36 to 45, who run their own businesses and primarily choose five-year loan programs.
