New Year Fir Tree Sales Have Begun: How Much Do the Trees Cost and Where Does the Money Go
New Year Fir Tree Sales in Ukraine
In 2025, the sale of New Year fir trees has begun in Ukraine. The forestry of 'Lesy Ukrainy' has already sold 10,000 coniferous trees and plans to sell about 140,000 fir trees. On special tree plantations covering an area of 2,700 hectares, there are 7.8 million trees growing.
Prices for Fir Trees and Their Marking
Prices for regular fir trees range from 210 to 250 hryvnias, while fir or spruce trees cost from 240 to 280 hryvnias. The price for container trees starts from 500 hryvnias. It is important to note that prices may vary by region:
- In low-resource areas, fir trees are cheaper;
- Near large cities - more expensive.
All fir trees are marked with barcodes or self-adhesive labels, which allows for controlling their sales. The funds obtained from the sale of New Year trees go to replenish the state budget, protect, and restore forests. This year, 'Lesy Ukrainy' transferred almost 15 billion hryvnias to the state treasury.
The sale of New Year fir trees in Ukraine not only satisfies the population's needs for festive attributes but also has important financial significance for the state. The funds obtained from sales contribute to the development of forestry and environmental initiatives, which is important in terms of preserving natural resources. This underscores the importance of responsible attitudes towards forests and their restoration in Ukraine.
