Overview of the New Car Market

Since the start of 2026, Ukraine has sold 27,000 new passenger vehicles, but recent figures point to a downturn in sales volumes, warranting further market analysis.

The decline in new car sales in Ukraine may reflect changes in the economic landscape, as well as the impact of the concluded government fuel subsidy program. The high level of engagement with this program, evidenced by the number of participants, underscores that support for the automotive industry remains a priority for Ukrainians. Continued market analysis could help identify the key factors driving reduced demand for new cars and potential measures to stabilize the situation.

As the new car market faces a significant decline, it's noteworthy that Ukrainians are increasingly turning to the used car segment. In April, a record number of pre-owned vehicles were purchased, indicating a shift in consumer preferences amidst the current economic challenges. This trend highlights the importance of understanding the evolving dynamics of the automotive market in Ukraine.
