Sales of new cars in Ukraine increased by 5%: August bestseller named

In August, nearly 6.8 thousand new passenger cars were registered in Ukraine. This is 5% more than in July, reported Ukravtoprom.

'In this month, Ukrainians purchased approximately 6.8 thousand new passenger cars. Compared to July, the demand for new cars increased by 5%', the statement said.

Compared to last August, the number of sold cars decreased by 16%. However, Ukravtoprom noted that a year ago there was a high demand in the market due to expectations of an additional 15% tax when purchasing a car. The results of August 2025 were the best in the last 11 months.

'The leader in the market remains the Japanese brand Toyota - 999 units. Also in the top five leaders of sales were BYD - 860 units, Renault - 529 units, Volkswagen - 527 units and Skoda - 407 units.'

The most popular car of the month was the compact crossover Renault Duster - 486 units. In total, since the beginning of the year, 46 thousand new passenger cars have been registered in the country, which is 3% less than the previous year.

In August, the demand for new passenger cars in Ukraine was higher than in the previous month. Compared to the previous year, the number of sold cars decreased, but this is explained by the previous period of extremely high demand. The Japanese brand Toyota remains the most popular among buyers, while the compact crossover Renault Duster became the sales leader in August.
