According to Radiotrek — Світ: In Rivne, the Neopalyemi project provides free medical care to those affected by the war, focusing especially on treating scars resulting from burns. Operating for over four years, this program collaborates with 32 clinics across Ukraine and also delivers psychological counseling, legal assistance, and career guidance.

Program Overview

Neopalyemi is a nationwide rehabilitation program addressing post-war injuries, deformities, burns, and scar treatment. As of September 20, 2026, the initiative includes 32 partner clinics distributed throughout Ukraine. Approximately 350 military personnel and veterans, along with 150 civilians, are currently receiving or continuing treatment through this program. Scars caused by injuries can tighten the skin, restrict movement, cause pain and itching, and impact joint function and daily activities.

Evheniy Pugach, a soldier from the Azov Brigade, sustained his third injury in May 2024 and turned to Neopalyemi for help. He shares his perspective:

"Wounds will heal. The pain is temporary. This was my third injury, and it confined me for a while. But it’s not us who should adapt to society - society needs to accept that people live with the aftermath of injuries." Evheniy Pugach

Another patient, Sviatoslav Yanushko, recounts his experience:
