The Kyiv Transport Pass Will Become More Expensive Than in Germany in 2026: What Prices to Expect
After the planned fare increase, public transport in Kyiv may become one of the most expensive in Europe. A full monthly pass in the capital will turn out to be more expensive than the German Deutschlandticket, which allows travel across Germany. This is reported by Glavcom.
New Fares in Kyiv Will Exceed the Price of the Pass in Germany
In Germany, there is currently a single national ticket, the Deutschlandticket. Its cost is 63 euros per month or about 3200 UAH.
This ticket allows unlimited use of metro, buses, trams, and regional trains throughout the country. Restrictions only apply to high-speed intercity trains.
In Kyiv, after the announced fare review, a full monthly pass may cost around 4875 UAH.

The Deutschlandticket in Germany Operates Nationwide
The main distinguishing feature of the German system is the universality of the ticket. Deutschlandticket is not tied to a specific city or region, allowing passengers to use public transport in various federal states without additional payments.
According to official data, more than 14 million people are already using this ticket.
In Kyiv, the new fares are planned to be implemented starting July 15, 2026. A single trip on the metro, buses, trolleybuses, and trams will cost 30 UAH.
At the same time, the capital's pass will only be valid on Kyiv's municipal transport. Minibuses and some suburban transport will not be included in the system.
For Kyiv residents, the new increase will mean a significant rise in daily travel costs, especially for those who regularly use several types of transport.
