Pro-Palestinian Activists Damaged Military Equipment for Ukraine in Belgium
More than 100 pro-Palestinian activists committed vandalism in Belgium, causing damage to Ukrainian military equipment. The 'Stop Arming Israel' movement attacked the company OIP Land Systems in Tournai, Belgium, mistakenly believing that it supplied armored vehicles to Israel. As a result, equipment for Ukrainian forces worth over $1.1 million was damaged.According to company president Freddy Versluys, the anti-Israel vandals only caused a one-month delay in supplies for Ukraine, without inflicting significant damage. It should be emphasized that OIP Land Systems is part of an Israeli firm, but has no connection to arms supplies to Israel.Recently, Belgium's Minister of Defense Theo Francken confirmed support for Ukraine as an important issue of values, after meeting with Arseniy Yatsenyuk. Thus, the incident of vandalism has only strengthened Belgium's support for Ukraine in the context of defense and political spheres.
