Zelensky and Sanchez in Brussels: Europe must be involved at every stage of the peace negotiations

According to Зеленський: During a meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in Brussels, we discussed the coordination of positions and steps with Europe in the negotiation process with the US President's team to achieve a dignified peace. It is important for Europe to be involved at every stage, as peace must guarantee Ukraine's sovereignty and European security. We also discussed our path to obtaining EU membership, which is an additional element of security guarantees.

I expressed my gratitude to Pedro Sanchez for continuing defense support, particularly for the decision to provide missiles for IRIS-T, participation in the PURL and SAFE programs. We highly appreciate Spain's support regarding all EU sanctions packages against Russia. We expect that the 20th sanctions package will include tough measures against the banking sector, Russia's shadow fleet, dual-use technologies, Russian oligarchs, and propagandists.

The meeting with the Prime Minister of Spain in Brussels was aimed at discussing cooperation between Ukraine and Spain in the context of international politics and security. The issues discussed concerned not only defense cooperation but also emphasized the importance of European unity and support in resolving the conflict in Eastern Ukraine.
