Emergency Service Psychologists Assist 28,000, Including 7,000 Children

Psychological Support from the State Emergency Service

According to ДСНС: Over a 20-day period, psychologists from Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SES) have provided psychological aid to more than 28,000 people. Notably, 7,000 of those seeking help were children. This critical support was delivered through mobile aid stations staffed by 14 SES psychologists working in shifts. This initiative highlights the ongoing mental health crisis in Ukraine following the full-scale invasion, where such services are vital for community resilience.

Locations Where Aid is Provided

Assistance is available at 24 "Points of Invincibility" based at fire stations, as well as through 104 mobile units operating across 70 different locations. The effort involves SES psychology trainees working under the supervision of senior psychologists. In total, nearly 120,000 residents of Kyiv have received support and aid at these points. The scale of this operation underscores the high and continuing demand for mental health services among civilians affected by the war.

This initiative demonstrates the critical importance of providing psychological support during crises, especially for vulnerable groups like children. Given the significant number of people seeking help, the need for such assistance remains high, and the work of the mobile units is essential for safeguarding the population's mental health under extreme stress.
