An expert from the Macdonald-Laurier Institute in Ottawa believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin will continue the war with Ukraine as it helps maintain his power. According to the expert, even diplomatic victories, such as the meeting with President Trump, only legitimize the Russian regime.
In light of these conclusions, the expert advises against supporting Russia's maximalist demands regarding the war with Ukraine, as this could lead to further violence and terror from the Kremlin.
