An Invitation to Join a New Peace Initiative

According to ХВИЛЯ: Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited to join a new international body, the 'Peace Council', proposed by Donald Trump to address the situation in the Gaza Strip. The invitation was delivered through diplomatic channels and was also extended to the leaders of India, Australia, Jordan, Greece, Cyprus, and Pakistan. This initiative represents a significant diplomatic overture, coming amid ongoing global tensions.

Broadening International Participation

Canada, Turkey, Egypt, Paraguay, Argentina, and Albania have also indicated their participation in the initiative, with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban confirming his agreement to join. To obtain permanent member status on the council, countries are required to contribute $1 billion. The funds collected are intended to be directed toward the reconstruction of Gaza's infrastructure.

When questioned about Moscow's potential response to the invitation, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia has not yet issued a reply. Participation in the council is free for ordinary members, while the $1 billion contribution secures permanent member status.

The broad, multi-national scope of the initiative may signal a growing interest in collective efforts within peace processes. However, the Kremlin's reaction to this proposal could significantly influence the future trajectory of the situation and impact Russia's relations with Western states observing the process. The involvement of a major power like Russia would be a pivotal development for any such international framework.
