Negotiations between Russia and the USA

According to ХВИЛЯ: Negotiations between President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the US President's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner concluded without reaching any compromises. The meeting took place in Moscow and lasted nearly five hours. Putin's assistant Yuri Ushakov reported that the negotiations were allegedly 'constructive, very useful, and substantive.'

During the meeting, Moscow received a 27-point plan, as well as four additional documents. As Ushakov noted, Putin stated that Moscow could agree only to part of the American peace plan. The Ukrainian and American sides developed 20 points of the peace plan during consultations in Geneva and Florida.

The Importance of Ukraine's Position

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has already expressed his readiness to meet with Donald Trump, but noted that it depends on the results of the Moscow negotiations. Ukraine's position remains important in the context of ongoing diplomatic efforts, and according to Andriy Sybiga, if Putin 'spits in the world's face again', there should be consequences.

Thus, the results of the negotiations did not provide clear grounds for positive changes in relations between the parties, as no compromises were found, and the situation remains tense.

These negotiations underscore the complexity and multifaceted nature of international relations in the context of Russian-American relations, as well as the influence on the situation in Ukraine. Despite the stated constructiveness, the lack of compromises may indicate a continuation of escalating tension between the parties. The outcomes of these negotiations may have far-reaching consequences for the ongoing diplomatic efforts in the region, particularly concerning Ukraine, which remains a key player in this conflict.
