Putin Rejects Talks, Readies Fresh Offensive in Donbas

Stalemate Between Moscow and Kyiv

Putin has rejected offers of European mediation, as well as Ukraine’s request for a summit on neutral ground. As a potential European interlocutor, he proposed former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder. However, according to Kai Callas,

“it would be unwise to let Putin choose Europe’s representative.”

Russia’s 2024 Victory Day parade was scaled back-missing armored vehicles for the first time in nearly two decades due to the threat of Ukrainian strikes.
