According to Главком: On April 28, the Verkhovna Rada voted to extend both martial law and general mobilization across Ukraine by an additional 90 days. The decision, formalized through a decree by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, takes effect at 5:30 AM on May 4, 2026. As a result, these measures will remain in force at least until August 2026.

The parliament approved the extension via a separate law. Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, stated:

“Following the Council’s proposal, a Presidential Decree was issued to extend martial law in Ukraine from 5:30 AM on May 4, 2026, for a period of 90 days.” - Rustem Umerov
