The competition for the HQA failed: The Judicial Council extended the deadlines due to lack of candidates

According to hvylya.net: The Judicial Council of Ukraine has extended the deadline for submitting documents to participate in the competition for the positions of members of the Competition Commission for selecting members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges. Now candidates can submit their documents until September 11, 2021.

According to the law, the Judicial Council must send three of its representatives to the composition of the competition commission. However, the final selection of commission members depends on the High Council of Justice, so it is important to have several candidates. The minimum number of candidates from the Judicial Council must be at least six persons.

Currently, only two judges have submitted their documents:OLEXANDR KOTKOV - judge of the Economic Court of KyivVOLODYMYR PETROV - judge of the Economic Court of Odesa region.

This decision was made due to low interest in participating in the competition for the mentioned positions. It is also reported that the issue of multiple citizenship was discussed at the World Congress of Ukrainians.

The legal process of appointing members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges continues, and there are still few judges willing to participate in the competition. The Judicial Council of Ukraine has extended the deadline for submitting documents for participation in the competition to ensure a proper selection of candidates and to guarantee the selection process of qualified specialists for the relevant positions.
