President of Cyprus in Ukraine for the First Time: Key Meeting Before Taking Over the EU Presidency

According to Зеленський: Today, President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides is visiting Ukraine for the first time on an official visit. This visit comes before Cyprus takes over the presidency of the European Union in January. It is seen as an important sign of support for Ukraine and as proof of further joint efforts for the benefit of both countries and all of Europe.

During the meeting, I informed the president about the situation in Ukraine, and we thoroughly discussed our joint European agenda. Currently, Europe is shaping a new global role for itself, and all the events that have occurred over the last four years show that Europe’s role must be truly strong and effective.

“I am grateful to Cyprus for its support at the political level, including negotiations on Ukraine's membership in the European Union. We hope that in the coming months there will be more progress on Ukraine's path to the EU, and Cyprus's presidency can be important for making the necessary decisions.
