Emergency Response Continues in Kyiv and Other Cities

According to Главком: Emergency crews are working across multiple Ukrainian cities in the aftermath of a major Russian military assault on the night of April 16th. The attack resulted in civilian casualties, with over 18 residents wounded in Kyiv alone. Rescue efforts are currently concentrated in the capital's Podilskyi district, where damage has been reported at five separate locations.

Kyiv's own rescue service, KARS, has been on site since 3 a.m., deploying 24 personnel and five specialized vehicles to manage the aftermath. A team of 11 specialists is working at sites in Podilskyi to dismantle unstable structures, though their efforts at one address are being hampered by parked cars blocking access for heavy equipment.

Coordinated Strikes Target Urban Centers

In addition to Kyiv, Russian forces also launched strikes against the cities of Dnipro, Odesa, and Kharkiv. The attack on Dnipro killed two people and left others with severe injuries, including traumatic brain injuries, shrapnel wounds, and blast trauma, with one woman reported in critical condition. Residential areas were hit, damaging a five-story apartment building and partially destroying a private house. In Odesa, at least five people were injured, and the blast wave in the Primorskyi district shattered windows in multiple buildings.

Rescue operations are ongoing as local services work to address the scale of the tragedy.
