Repair Work Begins at Lukyanivska Metro Station

According to Главком: Repair work will commence at the Lukyanivska metro station on March 4, focusing on the sequential replacement of the entrance door sets at Exit 1, which leads toward Yuri Illienka Street. The work will be carried out by the municipal enterprise 'Kyivskyi Metropoliten'. Despite the repairs, the station will continue to operate normally, with both exits remaining open for passenger use.

Similar work was already completed at Entrance/Exit 2, which faces the 'Kvadrat' shopping center, in February of this year. It is important to note that the station's above-ground vestibule has sustained damage from hostile shelling. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Lukyanivska vestibule has been damaged seven times, with the most recent attack occurring on July 21, 2025. The entrance door groups have been particularly vulnerable during these attacks, necessitating ongoing repairs.

Door Replacement and Station Operating Hours

The upcoming door replacement at Exit 1 is the next phase of these essential repairs. In a related incident, a missile attack on Kyiv and the region on the night of November 14, 2025, damaged a bus stop near the Lukyanivska metro station. This has led municipal services to begin dismantling a fence near the station. Due to the blocked stop, trolleybuses No. 6, 16, 18, 35, bus No. 50, and several minibuses have been forced to drop off passengers in a less safe location.

The operating hours for Lukyanivska station remain unchanged:

  • Exit 1 (Yuri Illienka Street side) is open from 5:35 AM to 10:28 PM;
  • Exit 2 ('Kvadrat' Shopping Center side) is open from 5:36 AM to 10:27 PM.

In the event of an air raid alert, all underground metro stations operate around the clock as shelters, with all vestibules open for entry.

The repair work at Lukyanivska station is part of a broader plan to improve metro infrastructure amid ongoing security challenges and enemy attacks. The station has already suffered significant damage, making these repairs vital for passenger safety. The previous work completed at Exit 2 demonstrates the commitment of municipal services to maintain the station's condition despite the considerable difficulties posed by the war.
