On June 12, 2025, near Nelipivka on the Kramatorsk front, a police sergeant fell-a man who became a symbol of courage and self-sacrifice. Taras Kushnir served in the National Police's Liut brigade, initially as an assault trooper and later as a driver.
During his service, he completed 226 combat missions, demonstrating professionalism and unwavering dedication. In his final moments, Taras drove an enemy armored vehicle away from his unit's positions, saving his comrades. This heroic act, however, came at a tragic cost. After his death, his fellow fighters spent three days trying to recover his body from the battlefield-a testament to the immense difficulties they faced amid intense combat.
Remembering a Hero
Taras Kushnir leaves behind a wife and two children, who now remember him as a hero. His name has been inscribed in the Book of Memory of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, a lasting tribute to his bravery and valor in Ukraine's fight for independence.
