Price growth forecast for products in Ukraine

According to ХВИЛЯ: Experts predict an increase in prices for key products in Ukraine ahead of Christmas and the New Year. The overall price increase may reach 10%. It is expected that the peak of purchases will occur between December 18 and December 21, and December 25 and December 26, when consumers actively buy necessary products for the festive table.

Among the products that may rise in price are:

  • meat (especially pork and chicken)
  • vegetable oil
  • eggs

This price increase is caused, in particular, by increased demand for these products during festive preparations.

The impact of honey harvest failure on the market

It is worth noting that the year 2025 is marked by a catastrophic 'failure' of honey harvest, which will also affect the market. According to experts, 60% of the consumer honey market consists of 'noname brands', which may lead to price shifts in this segment. However, the volume of honey supplies through organized retail has increased by 5% compared to the previous year, which may partially compensate for the negative consequences of the harvest failure.

Price increases exceeding 10% will, according to expert Ivan Tomych,

"rather be an exception" than a general trend.

Eduard Krychfalushi emphasizes the importance of consumer comfort during this period, asking:

"Will we be comfortable with this?"

These questions remain relevant as Ukrainians prepare for festive purchases against the backdrop of changes in pricing policy.

The situation in the food market in Ukraine before the holidays underscores the importance of monitoring prices and consumer sentiment. Increased demand during the festive period can lead to significant price fluctuations, which will affect household budgets. Consumers should be prepared for possible changes in prices for key products, which may impact their holiday plans.
