Експерти прогнозують різке зниження температури в Україні, що може досягти -28°C.

Severe Cold Front Expected for Ukraine

According to ХВИЛЯ: Meteorologist Natalia Didenko has issued a warning of a severe cold snap set to grip Ukraine starting January 31st, as a northern anticyclone moves in. She forecasts that air temperatures could plunge as low as -28 degrees Celsius in early February. This new wave of cold follows a previous one, meaning residents are already somewhat accustomed to harsh winter conditions.

Detailed Temperature Forecast

On January 31st, temperatures in Crimea, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions will range from +1 to +5 degrees. In most other regions of Ukraine, daytime temperatures will vary from -6 to -10 degrees. The western and northern parts of the country will be even colder, with readings from -7 to -12 degrees. In Kyiv, the night temperature on January 31st is predicted to be -14 degrees, with a daytime high of -12 degrees.

'On Saturday, a new powerful anticyclone from the north will gradually displace these moist cyclonic remnants from Ukraine's territory, lobbying for its frosty interests.' Natalia Didenko

Didenko noted that the beginning of February will be intensely cold, with nighttime air temperatures between -20 and -28 degrees. Such extreme cold poses significant risks to public health and infrastructure, requiring heightened precautions.

The anticipated deep freeze in the coming days is likely to impact daily life, affecting transport, the energy sector, and social infrastructure. Under these dropping temperatures, it is crucial to follow safety rules to avoid hypothermia and other dangerous situations.

Furthermore, this cold snap could adversely affect agriculture, particularly vegetation that has already begun to emerge from winter dormancy.
