Russian Strikes Across Five Ukrainian Regions Kill Teenager, Wound Civilians, and Damage Infrastructure
Російські удари в п’яти регіонах України призвели до загибелі підлітка, поранення мирних жителів та руйнування інфраструктури.

Widespread Russian Military Assaults on Ukraine

According to Главком: On March 12, Russian forces launched a series of attacks across Ukraine, resulting in significant destruction, civilian injuries, and loss of life. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Russian military targeted three districts, employing artillery and drones in more than 50 separate strikes. The Nikopol district suffered the most extensive damage, with strikes hitting the district center as well as the Chervonohryhorivka, Marhanets, and Pokrovsk communities. The assaults damaged private homes, an industrial facility, and a gas station.

Consequences of the Attacks

In the Nikopol district, a 78-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man sustained injuries. In the Synelnykove district, Russian strikes hit the Pokrovsk and Mezhova communities, igniting fires that have since been extinguished. Two men, aged 58 and 60, were injured and hospitalized, with one reported to be in serious condition. As noted by Oleksandr Ganja:

Furthermore, in the Hrushivka community of the Kryvyi Rih district, infrastructure was damaged due to hostile shelling. Also on March 12, strikes targeted railway infrastructure in the Sumy and Mykolaiv regions, resulting in damage to:

  • diesel locomotives;
  • railway tracks;
  • a station building.

In Kherson, Russian invaders shelled a hospital, wounding three people. During the night of March 12, Russian forces attacked the Korivka district in the Chernihiv region, killing a 15-year-old girl and wounding her parents.

These events underscore the ongoing armed aggression by Russia against Ukraine, which continues to cause humanitarian crises and severe damage to civilian infrastructure. The repeated targeting of civilian sites like hospitals and residential buildings endangers the lives of non-combatants and raises grave concerns for the safety of populations in affected areas. This relentless assault on civilian areas highlights the brutal nature of the conflict, now in its third year, and the critical need for continued international support for Ukraine's defense and humanitarian efforts.
