Drone Attacks Across Ukraine

According to Главком: Ukraine came under attack from Russian drones overnight on March 24. The strikes targeted several regions, including areas near the capital Kyiv, as well as Odesa, Kirovohrad, and Kryvyi Rih. These assaults are part of an ongoing wave of attacks in recent days, which have damaged civilian infrastructure and resulted in casualties. The use of explosive drones, often referred to as 'kamikaze' or 'suicide' drones, has become a frequent tactic in the conflict.

On the evening of March 22, Odesa region witnessed an assault involving more than 20 drones. An attack on a public transport stop in the Odesa district wounded two people: an 18-year-old teenager and a 51-year-old man, both sustaining injuries of moderate severity. That same day, in the city of Znamianka in Kirovohrad region, one woman was wounded in a separate drone strike.

The following morning, on March 23, a strike on Kryvyi Rih injured two men, aged 31 and 58. The incident also sparked a fire.

Official Safety Appeals

In response to the threat over Kyiv, official Timur Tkachenko urged residents to remain in shelters until the air raid alert was lifted:

“Enemy UAVs are currently near the capital. It may be loud. Stay in shelters until the air raid alert is over!” – Timur Tkachenko

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko also called on citizens to stay in safe places, stating:

“Enemy UAVs over Kyiv. Currently heading toward Vydubychi. Air defense forces are active in the capital's suburbs. Stay in shelters!” – Vitali Klitschko

The persistent drone threat across Ukraine continues to cause significant public concern, as these attacks lead to numerous casualties and destruction. Authorities are urging civilians to adhere to safety protocols and take shelter during air raid alarms. This underscores the critical need for civilian preparedness amid the enduring conflict, where frontlines are often defined by long-range strikes.

The ongoing drone strikes are not the only concern for Ukraine, as recent Russian attacks have also targeted civilian ships in Odesa, leading to casualties and significant damage. This escalation highlights the multifaceted threats facing the nation and the urgent need for heightened safety measures among the population.
