Russia Strikes Seven Ukrainian Regions with Drones and Artillery: A Summary of the Damage
Widespread Russian Assault Across Ukraine
According to Главком: In the early hours of February 7, Russian forces launched a coordinated attack, targeting multiple Ukrainian regions with drones and missiles. The assault impacted the following areas:
- Dnipropetrovsk
- Kyiv
- Kharkiv
- Kirovohrad
- Volyn
- Ivano-Frankivsk
- Vinnytsia
According to Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration head, Oleksandr Ganzha, drone strikes in his region damaged a municipal enterprise's grounds, buildings, trolleybuses, and other vehicles. The attacks also hit the Petropavlivska, Mezhivska, and Raivska communities in the Synelnykove district, including the city of Synelnykove itself. A 68-year-old woman was injured and received outpatient treatment. The strikes damaged three private homes, a fire station building, cars, and a gas pipeline.
Shelling and Further Consequences
Additionally, the Nikopol district came under artillery fire, affecting the Chervonohryhorivska and Marhanetska communities. In the Kyiv region, firefighters were still working to extinguish a blaze in a warehouse as of the morning of February 8, following a drone attack. Around 02:37, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported a 'Shahed' drone strike in the Kholodnohirskyi district. At 02:43, explosions were heard in Kropyvnytskyi, where the military had earlier warned residents of approaching drones.
Furthermore, the Russian military used drones to strike a critical infrastructure facility in the Volyn region, causing damage. The Ivano-Frankivsk region was targeted with cruise missiles and drones; a series of secondary explosions was recorded in Burshtyn. Explosions were also reported in Vinnytsia, where, according to monitoring channels, 'Zircon'-type missiles may have been directed.
This assault is part of Russia's ongoing military campaign in Ukraine and signals a continued escalation of the conflict.
These attacks underscore the persistent vulnerability of civilian areas and key installations far from the front lines. Ensuring the security of critical infrastructure and the population remains a priority, as such strikes can have severe consequences for civilians and the regional economy. Under constant threat, Ukrainian authorities continue to implement measures to counter attacks and protect citizens.
