According to Главком: In the early hours of April 17, Russian forces launched attacks on the Ukrainian cities of Chernihiv and Dnipro. The assault on Chernihiv damaged the city's thermal power plant (CHP), forcing a temporary halt to the hot water supply for consumers served by the municipal utility 'Teplokomunenerho'. Approximately 6,000 subscribers in Chernihiv were left without electricity. Emergency services, technical specialists, and management are currently working at the site to restore services.

The attack on Chernihiv was carried out using drones, which ignited fires at the impact sites. Separately, the Russian military struck the city of Dnipro on the morning of April 17, also causing a fire and leaving one person injured.
