According to ДСНС: Russian forces launched an attack on communities within Ukraine's Sumy Oblast, specifically targeting the Konotop, Nedryhailiv, and Kyrykivska areas. The strikes resulted in multiple fires breaking out in residential neighborhoods, as well as in administrative and non-residential buildings.

Emergency Response Under Fire

Firefighters working to extinguish the blazes were forced to suspend their operations and seek shelter on several occasions due to the threat of follow-up strikes. Despite the dangerous conditions, specialists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) managed to put out all the fires, inspect the damaged areas, and provide assistance to local residents.

This incident is part of an ongoing escalation of military activity in eastern Ukraine that has persisted for several months. The Sumy Oblast, which shares a border with Russia, is frequently subjected to shelling.
