Attacks on Kyiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv on December 25

According to Главком: On December 25, Russian occupiers carried out attacks on Kyiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv, resulting in casualties and injuries. Kyiv's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, reported the consequences of these attacks. In the capital, five residents were reported injured, four of whom were hospitalized. Due to shelling in the Holosiivskyi district, a fire broke out at a service station, and debris fell in the Desnyanskyi district on open territory.

In Kherson, Russian invaders attacked the city center, specifically the market where people were preparing for the holiday. Oleksandr Prokudin noted that

“in broad daylight, the occupiers cynically struck the market”

. In Chernihiv, as a result of a drone attack, a five-story residential building was damaged, leading to the death of one person. Also, on the night of December 25, Russian terrorists struck the Kernel facility, causing a fire due to damage to an oil container.

Tragic consequences of the attacks

These events have been tragic for the residents of the cities, who should have been celebrating Christmas. An unknown commentator noted that 'today, on Christmas Day, when homes should be filled with light, silence, and family warmth, the enemy struck again at the residential buildings of the city.' The attacks on December 25 again highlighted the threat that Russian actions pose to the peaceful population of Ukraine.

The attacks on Ukrainian cities on Christmas Day are further confirmation of Russia's continued aggressive policy, which disregards humanitarian values and holidays. In a situation of constant danger, the situation in Ukraine remains tense, and civilians fall victim to military actions. These events draw the attention of the international community to the need to support Ukraine in its struggle for peace and security.
