Strikes Target Kryvyi Rih and Kharkiv

According to Главком: A Russian drone attack on Kryvyi Rih resulted in civilian casualties, with the number of injured rising to two. An 82-year-old woman sought medical aid, and an 89-year-old man was wounded. The strike caused a fire in a multi-story residential building, damaging structural elements and a significant number of windows. A Russian 'Shahed' attack drone struck a five-story building in the city, leading to substantial destruction.

On the night of February 26, Kharkiv also endured a massive combined assault using drones and missiles. The attack impacted at least four districts:

  • Shevchenkivskyi
  • Kyivskyi
  • Saltivskyi
  • Slobidskyi

Notably, on February 25, Kharkiv recorded the first confirmed use of a Russian fiber-optic-guided FPV drone since the start of the full-scale invasion. Around 3:00 PM, the 13-inch drone struck an area in the city's Kyivskyi district, hitting a tree. This marks a concerning tactical development in the conflict.

Situation in Zaporizhzhia and Overall Context

Russian forces also attacked Zaporizhzhia overnight, injuring at least one person. The events in Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia underscore the ongoing threat to civilians as the situation remains tense. These attacks are part of a wider pattern of strikes on Ukrainian cities far from the front lines.

The situation in Ukraine remains severe, with continued attacks on civilian areas causing harm to infrastructure and non-combatants. The deployment of new technologies like FPV drones indicates an evolution in Russian warfare tactics. This highlights the threat these systems pose to civilians and the critical need to protect residential zones amid the protracted conflict.
