According to УНІАН — Туризм: Russian forces launched an assault on a Ukrainian railway locomotive stationed at Yahodyn, close to the Polish border. At the time of the strike, a diplomatic train carrying European Union security advisors and former European leaders, including former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, was present at the station. Another train on-site held former CIA Director David Petraeus. Fortunately, passengers were evacuated approximately 15 minutes before the attack, likely preventing greater casualties.

In the aftermath, Boris Johnson called for enhanced air defense systems in Ukraine and urged the transfer of frozen Russian assets to Kyiv. He highlighted that over €140 billion of Kremlin funds remain frozen in the Euroclear Belgian depository.

Simultaneously, Russian forces targeted a Ukrainian fuel station near the Poland border, causing a fire that engulfed nearby cargo trucks at the Yahodyn checkpoint.

Polish Prime Minister Announces Border Traffic Improvements

Amid these developments, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk outlined plans to expedite traffic flow at the Ukraine border. He emphasized the critical need to prevent fuel truck congestion at border crossings, stating:

“Cooperation between customs, police, border guards, and military must ensure smooth traffic to avoid dangerous backups. We cannot allow fuel truck queues to build up at our border points. I shouldn’t have to explain this, but it remains a vulnerability for us.” - Donald Tusk
