Attack on Kernel Company

According to Главком: On the night of December 25, Russian terrorists attacked the assets of Kernel, which is the largest producer and exporter of sunflower oil in Ukraine. This attack led to significant consequences for the enterprise and the market as a whole.

As a result of the shelling, an oil storage tank was damaged, causing a fire and oil leak. Additionally, debris from the drone damaged part of the company's production block. The attack resulted not only in material losses but also in human casualties. At least nine people were killed as a result of the shelling, and one person died while two others were injured due to a strike on the port and industrial infrastructure of the Odessa region.

Market and Economic Impact

This situation raises concerns among market participants, as Kernel plays an important role in the export of sunflower oil from Ukraine. The consequences of the attack may significantly affect the company's production capacities and the overall state of the oil market in the country.

The attack on Kernel highlights the risks that Ukrainian enterprises face in wartime, especially those engaged in the export of strategic goods. The loss of production capacities may lead to a decrease in export volumes, which in turn will negatively impact the country's economy and food security. Market participants are monitoring the situation's development, as similar attacks could become commonplace in a prolonged conflict.
