According to Главком: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has detailed Russia's significant mobilization potential and its severe battlefield losses, which are critically shaping frontline dynamics. Russia's total mobilization pool is estimated at over 20 million people, with roughly 4.5 million constituting a trained reserve. However, despite this vast reserve, the Russian army has only managed to recruit approximately 406,000 individuals over a specific period. This assessment comes as Western intelligence continues to monitor Russia's ability to sustain its war effort.

Military Losses and Their Consequences

The size of Russia's offensive grouping remains at approximately 711,000 troops. Yet, Russian military casualties stand at around 419,000 personnel, a figure that severely hampers its ability to expand this force. Oleksandr Syrskyi emphasized that

"the enemy has been unable to build up this grouping, despite all its mobilization efforts, due to an exceptionally high level of losses."

Even after exceeding its 2025 mobilization targets by more than 100%, the fundamental situation for the aggressor has not changed. These factors indicate that, despite a large pool of potential recruits, staggering losses are preventing Russia from effectively implementing its military strategies on the ground.
