Relentless Russian Strikes Target Kyiv’s Power Facilities as Round-the-Clock Repairs Persist
Ukraine’s Energy Infrastructure Faces Ongoing Assaults
According to ХВИЛЯ: Russian forces continue their near-constant bombardment of power installations that supply electricity to Kyiv and the central regions of Ukraine, causing major damage. Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky emphasized the dire nature of the situation, noting that several critical infrastructure sites have suffered severe impacts. He stated,
"The enemy attacks energy infrastructure and facilities powering Kyiv and central regions almost nonstop every day."
Repair crews are working tirelessly around the clock, often carrying out restoration efforts even during air raid alerts. Koretsky highlighted the persistent threat posed by enemy-launched rocket drones aimed at disrupting these repairs:
"The adversary continuously deploys reactive drones to prevent rapid restoration work."
Government agencies, including the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Energy, and the State Emergency Service, are collaborating closely with local authorities to urgently address essential services and maintain traffic flow in the capital.
Calls for Increased International Aid
The Prime Minister also stressed the need to draw lessons from recent events, particularly regarding life-support systems and backup transportation arrangements. He remarked,
"Specifically for Kyiv, conclusions must be drawn following recent incidents."
Koretsky expressed gratitude to energy workers and rescuers who continue operating despite ongoing risks from attacks. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Energy, and the Presidential Office are actively engaging with international partners to secure additional assistance amid this critical crisis.
Ukraine’s current energy situation, especially in Kyiv, underscores the severe threat posed to vital infrastructure that underpins public life. Continuous Russian strikes endanger not only the stability of power supplies but also the safety and well-being of civilians. Government bodies remain committed to overcoming these challenges, highlighting the crucial role of global support as the conflict intensifies.
