The Situation in Ukraine

According to Главком: Russian military attacks continue across various regions of Ukraine, inflicting significant damage to infrastructure and causing civilian casualties. Specifically, on March 24 and 26, drone strikes were recorded in Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih, impacting civilian sites and injuring people. Oleksandr Ganzhur, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, confirmed that a Russian drone struck a multi-story residential building in Dnipro, resulting in casualties. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had previously issued warnings about the threat of Russian UAVs in this region.

In Kryvyi Rih, a Russian strike also damaged an infrastructure facility. Overnight on March 26, Russian forces launched a mass attack on the Odesa region, damaging port, energy, and industrial infrastructure. Fires broke out at the impact sites and were extinguished by rescue teams. One person was injured as a result of the attack on the Odesa region.

Shelling in Sumy Region

Over the course of a single day, Russian troops carried out 50 artillery strikes targeting 42 settlements in the Sumy region. Communities in the Sumy, Shostka, Konotop, and Okhtyrka districts came under fire. This relentless shelling and drone attacks highlight an intensification of hostilities in regions suffering the most destruction and danger.

The escalation of combat operations in Ukraine, particularly in the Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions, underscores the continuation of Russian assaults, which are causing serious humanitarian consequences. The destruction of infrastructure in such areas can have long-term effects on local residents' lives, significantly complicating access to essential services. With the increase in shelling in the Sumy region, it is clear that the situation remains tense, and the need for security and humanitarian aid is growing. These attacks are part of a wider pattern of strikes on civilian areas that has characterized the conflict since Russia's full-scale invasion began in February 2022.

Amid the ongoing drone strikes and artillery shelling, the situation in Ukraine remains dire. Recent attacks have not only affected Dnipro and Odesa but have also escalated in other regions, including Sumy and Kryvyi Rih.
