Russia vs Europe: Real Military Power Without Propaganda

According to ХВИЛЯ: Analyzing the military threats of Russia to Europe, it can be noted that there is a significant discrepancy between Russian propaganda and actual military capabilities. A high population, developed economy, and considerable military resources are advantages of European countries compared to Russia.

In 2022, Russia began its so-called 'special military operation' in Ukraine, which continues to affect the military situation in the region. The Russian army consists of about 1.3-1.5 million soldiers. However, compared to European countries, excluding the USA, their number amounts to over 1.8 million active service members. This figure indicates a tangible advantage for Europe in the number of military personnel.

Economic Ratio and Military Spending

Russia's gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated at approximately 2.2 trillion dollars, while the GDP of the European Union exceeds 17 trillion dollars. Such an economic ratio provides European countries with more opportunities for investment in military resources and technologies.

In 2024, Russia plans to allocate about 110-120 billion dollars for defense. At the same time, European countries together spent over 690 billion dollars on their armed forces. This indicates that European countries have significantly larger resources to ensure their defense capabilities.

During the war, Russia has suffered significant losses, losing over 11,500 battle tanks. At the same time, the Ukrainian army, which has nearly a million soldiers, has undergone real combat actions, which also affects the overall military situation in the region. Another important aspect is naval strength: the Russian fleet numbers about 420 vessels, whereas European fleets combined total over 2000 vessels.

Therefore, considering these facts, it can be concluded that the real military power of Europe significantly exceeds the capabilities of Russia. This suggests that the military threats posed by Russia may be overstated, and the real balance of power in the region favors European countries.

In the context of escalating military conflicts in Ukraine and its surroundings, analyzing military capabilities is crucial for understanding the security dynamics in Europe. Data indicates that Europe has significant military advantages, which may influence the strategic decisions of countries in the region, as well as possible scenarios for future developments. Such a situation may prompt European countries to further strengthen their defense capabilities and coordinate actions on the international stage.
