Attack on Lviv region

According to Главком: The Russian medium-range ballistic missile 'Oreshnik' was first used during the attack on the Lviv region, as a result of which a critical infrastructure facility suffered minor damage. The strike was recorded at 23:47 when the missile was traveling on a ballistic trajectory at a speed of about 13 thousand km per hour.

The head of the Lviv regional military administration, Maxim Kozitsky, confirmed that the facility damaged as a result of the attack is part of critical infrastructure. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, also stated that a ballistic missile 'Oreshnik' was used during the attack. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation confirmed that the strike was carried out by this missile.

Situation in Lviv region

Let us remind you that on the night of January 9, a series of explosions were heard in Lviv, causing concern among local residents. The situation in the Lviv region remains under control, but the details of the further consequences of the attack are still being clarified.

The use of the ballistic missile 'Oreshnik' underscores the escalation of military actions in the territory of Ukraine, particularly in the west of the country, which has traditionally not been the epicenter of the conflict. This also indicates a possible change in Russia's tactics in conducting military actions and an increased risk to critical infrastructure in Ukraine. The further development of events may affect the security situation in the region and require additional measures from Ukrainian defense forces.
