Aggregate Russian Combat Losses

According to Кабмін: More than four years after Russia launched its full-scale invasion, the latest estimates show the toll has continued to climb. Between February 24, 2022, and August 10, 2026, Russian forces have suffered substantial aggregate losses in both personnel and equipment. The current estimate for total personnel losses is approximately 1,459,210, with 1,470 added in the latest reporting period. Operational-tactical drones saw the biggest single-period increase, rising by 1,746 units-an indication of how central such systems have become to the fighting.

Equipment Losses

Russian equipment losses include:

  • 12,255 tanks (+2)
  • 25,116 armored fighting vehicles (+13)
  • 47,669 artillery systems (+48)
  • 2,019 multiple rocket launchers (+6)
  • 1,558 air defense systems (+2)
  • 439 aircraft
  • 354 helicopters
  • 2,181 ground robotic systems (+10)
  • 5,007 cruise missiles

The Russian fleet has also lost 35 ships and boats, along with 2 submarines, although its overall naval losses remain relatively limited.

These casualty and equipment figures are continuously updated, reflecting the ongoing monitoring effort.

The data highlights both the length and intensity of the conflict and the strain it has placed on Russia's military resources.

The steady rise in personnel and hardware losses points to sustained combat operations and the constant need for both sides to adjust their tactics. The fact that the numbers keep being revised also underlines the critical role of accurate battlefield data in tracking and forecasting how the front may evolve.
