Russia Launches Heavy Attacks Across Ukraine

According to ДСНС: In a significant escalation, Russian forces struck multiple regions across Ukraine, firing 16 ballistic missiles and deploying more than 280 drones overnight. These assaults have resulted in 12 injuries, including five students and staff members at a university campus. The offensive targeted critical sectors such as energy, logistics, and urban infrastructure, affecting areas including Kyiv and its surrounding region.

President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the number of wounded from the university strike has risen to 12, with five being part of the academic community.

“Tragically, there are casualties and hits in Kyiv, notably on the Southern Bridge,” President Zelensky confirmed.

Regions Impacted by the Strikes

The Russian attacks spanned a wide geographic area, hitting:

  • Kyiv region
  • Vinnytsia region
  • Zaporizhzhia region
  • Dnipropetrovsk region
  • Kharkiv region
  • Odesa region
  • Chernihiv region
  • Sumy region
  • Donetsk region
  • Kherson region
  • Chernivtsi region

President Zelensky emphasized, “Attacks occurred in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Kherson, and Chernivtsi regions.”

The primary targets of these strikes were energy facilities, logistical hubs, and essential urban infrastructure.

“Almost all Russian targets are focused on energy, logistics, and civilian infrastructure,” the president noted.

Compounding the crisis, delays in delivering interceptor packages for Patriot and NASAMS air defense systems have worsened Ukraine’s ability to fend off these attacks. Zelensky highlighted, “Artificial and prolonged postponements in supplying interceptors for Patriots and NASAMS have directly aided Russia in advancing its terror campaign.”

He further warned that each supply delay translates into new strikes on vital sites. “Unfortunately, attacks occur daily. Russia continues to escalate its aggression,” Zelensky stated. He called for stronger international pressure and tangible support to help Ukraine turn the tide: “Pressure on Russia and real assistance for Ukraine are crucial to changing the situation.”

The ongoing Russian offensive underscores the urgent need for measures to safeguard civilians and critical infrastructure. The increasing intensity of these attacks reflects rising tensions that endanger the safety of Ukraine’s population and essential services.

Given the escalating violence, President Zelensky stresses the importance of global cooperation and timely delivery of defense equipment to prevent further devastation. The international community’s swift response is vital to counter the aggression and protect innocent lives.

The recent escalation of Russian assaults is part of a broader pattern of aggression, as evidenced by over 1,600 strikes reported across nine regions. This ongoing conflict not only highlights the immediate threat to civilian safety but also underscores the urgent need for enhanced defensive measures to protect Ukraine's critical infrastructure and population.
