Russia Launches Large-Scale Missile and Drone Assault on Ukraine, Injuring 73 in Kharkiv
Масштабний ракетний та дроновий напад Росії на Україну, внаслідок якого постраждали 73 особи в Харкові.

Intense Missile and Drone Strikes Target Ukraine Overnight

According to ХВИЛЯ: In the early hours of November 3, Russia carried out a widespread missile and drone offensive against Ukraine, causing extensive damage across several regions. The heaviest attacks struck Kyiv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, and Dnipro areas. In Kharkiv alone, 73 people were wounded, while 15 were injured in Dnipro, including three in critical condition.

The offensive involved the deployment of Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and Zircon anti-ship missiles launched from Russia's Rostov, Voronezh, and Kursk regions. Additionally, 59 cruise missiles-comprising X-101, X-59, X-69, and Iskander-K types-were fired from Vologda, Orenburg, and Oryol oblasts. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted or neutralized a total of 309 targets by 9:00 AM, including 3 ballistic missiles, 49 cruise missiles, and 257 drones, 89 of which were rocket-powered.

Damage to Critical Infrastructure

The attacks struck 23 different sites, with debris falling on 14 of them. Hostile drones remained active even after the morning reports. The aggressors targeted thermal power plants (TPPs), hydroelectric stations, and electrical substations. In Kharkiv, two medical facilities, a laboratory, residential buildings, and vehicles sustained damage. Preliminary assessments suggest that a FAB-250 aerial bomb may have been used there.

In the Odessa region, a second wave of strikes hit energy and civilian infrastructure, severely damaging a DTEK facility and causing widespread power outages. Administrative offices, warehouses, and manufacturing workshops were also affected. Meanwhile, in Rivne oblast, an overnight strike damaged a Ukrenergo substation.

This offensive marks a new phase in the escalating conflict between Russia and Ukraine, highlighting the scale and technological sophistication of the weaponry deployed.

Beyond inflicting numerous civilian casualties, the attack further weakened Ukraine’s already strained energy infrastructure. In response, Ukrainian forces are intensifying their air defense measures and accelerating efforts to restore critical services and facilities.

The recent missile and drone strikes have not only impacted Kharkiv but have also extended their reach to the Kyiv region, causing significant casualties and destruction.
