Russian Attacks Hit Several Ukrainian Cities on October 4
According to Рубрика — Суспільство: During the night and morning of October 4, Russian forces launched assaults on Kyiv, Dnipro, Sumy, and the Boryspil district in Kyiv region. These attacks caused injuries, significant damage to buildings and infrastructure, and disrupted water supply services.
Impact of Strikes Across Different Locations
In Sumy, an airstrike injured five people, with two in critical condition. The strike targeted a densely populated neighborhood, damaging apartment buildings, private vehicles, and essential utility lines including electricity and gas. As a result, some residents experienced water outages, with restoration work expected to conclude after 10:00 AM.
In Dnipro, Russian forces struck a communications company’s building located in the city center. Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, confirmed the attack and its aftermath. In Kyiv’s Dnipro district, fragments from a downed Russian drone landed on a private house roof and near a road, as reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
The Boryspil district suffered extensive damage overnight. According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, "Six private homes, a vehicle, a church, a primary school building, a café, and a medical facility were damaged during the hostile UAV attack." Windows were shattered and doors damaged in several structures throughout the area.
Throughout the night leading into October 4, Russian forces deployed 135 attack drones, including 52 rocket-powered models. Ukraine’s air defense successfully intercepted 123 of these hostile drones. Russian weapons struck targets in five locations, while debris from intercepted drones fell in another five areas. The Ukrainian Air Force issued warnings about a Russian rocket drone heading towards Dnipro.
Regional military administrations continue to provide updates on the attacks’ consequences and ongoing recovery efforts.
