Kyiv under fire: attacks on August 30

Falling debris caused damage across several districts, and two people have been reported injured so far. A non-residential building caught fire in the Shevchenskyi district, while in the Holosiivskyi district medics were called out after the facade of a two-story cafe building was damaged. Debris also landed on the grounds of a residential complex in the Pecherskyi district. By 4:05 p.m., the day's eighth air-raid alert had been announced in the city.

The night before August 30 also brought a drone assault on Kyiv, with a residential building, warehouse and administrative facilities, and a green area catching fire during the attack. In that overnight wave, Russian forces launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 130 strike drones. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 125 UAVs, while impacts were recorded at 13 locations.

Kyiv residents urged to heed air-raid warnings

The Kyiv City Military Administration has told residents to stay in shelters until the air-raid alert is lifted. The continued attacks show that the threat from Russian forces remains serious and directly affects the safety and daily lives of people in the capital.

The situation in Kyiv is still tense, with regular strikes from the aggressor underscoring the importance of civilian preparedness. Air defense systems proved effective by neutralizing most of the drones, but the risk to civilians remains high. Residents are urged to follow official instructions and remain in shelters during air-raid alerts to reduce the chance of being injured or killed in the attacks.
